About
The primary goal of this infographic report is to tell a story that helps the reader visually understand the context of this disease or illness, what it is, how it affects the person, and what is happening with it regarding research or medical futures. People will learn how to tell a story, demonstrate through the diagram and use data graphics as a source for information and communication
Research
Illness: Lactose Intolerance
Definition: Lactose intolerance is a digestive condition that happens when an individual does not produce enough lactase enzymes in the small intestine to digest the lactose in dairy products.
Purpose Statement
Lactose intolerance is a digestive disorder caused by the inability to digest lactose, but many people misunderstand the symptom of lactose intolerance and a food allergy to dairy.
Narrative
For my report, I want to educate people about lactose intolerance, because not everyone knows about their symptoms. I will start with the introduction of this illness such as definition and the history of lactose intolerance. I might use some quotes from a survey/an interview to describe what people usually thought about this illness, so I can connect my report to my audiences. Then, I will explain the causes of lactose intolerance and people’s behavior that are related to each other. After that, I will provide data from surveys and researches to give more information to my audiences such as lactose intolerance rates by ethnicity or the numbers of who usually likely develop symptoms. Later, I want to educate people on how to avoid lactose intolerance, and what they should do when they get the illness.
